Serological assessment of the durability of vaccine-mediated protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Abstract Virus-specific neutralizing antibodies are generally accepted as a correlate of protection against infection, though many questions remain about which components the immune response protect SARS-CoV-2 infection. We longitudinally measured Spike receptor binding domain (RBD)-specific serum IgG and nucleocapsid protein (NP)-specific in human cohort immunized with Pfizer BNT162b2 vaccine. Serum samples were collected stored at −80 °C. Antibody titers quantitated using an endpoint dilution ELISA reported inverse titers. A four-fold or greater increase NP-specific antibody was used serological marker clinical infection some point prior to sample collection. Using RBD-specific titer participants’ seroconversion for NP, we able calculate protective threshold IgG. calculated rate decay participants who did not exhibit IgG, i.e. had no evidence found that, on average, waned below by four months following vaccination.
